My favourite Chinese food restaurant! Excellent food and selection. Authentic.

Authentic Chinese food that has been consistent over 25+ years that I have gone there. Wide variety of dishes. Some of the ones that we really love are: Mustard Greens with Duck & Salted Egg Soup - the flavour contrast is very good with the salted egg, greens, and duck. Snow Pea Sprouts with Garlic - great if you want greens, Eggplant & Shrimp with Black Bean Sauce - so yummy. They are also able to tweak dishes for you. We always get Yang Sheng special rice with black bean sauce for instance instead of the regular sauce. Yang Sheng is our goto Chinese restaurant. Food is great and there are so many options.

Quality food and good portions

Delivery order. We loved (!) the beef and eggplant, very delicious. Spring rolls also nicely done, good flavour. The vegetables in peanut sauce were okay, better with a bit of salt/soy sauce.

Service is ok. Don't get served right away, a bit of a wait even when not busy. Prices are reasonable. Enjoy the food

Reasonable price for large portion of food! My favorite Chinese restaurant. They are always so generous on meat. In some other Chinese restaurant, they always serve a large bowl of noodles with two or three pieces of meat. In here, the ratio of meat and the noodles is almost 1:1.5. Absolutely a good place for meat lovers.

Good food good service

This place has pretty decent prices for the portion sizes. I've yet to eat in but take-out has been amazing.I had the Singapore Noodles, which lacked oomf but were delicious nonetheless.

The food is great at this resturant and service is nice too. I eat here from time to time. Try their cantonese chowmein. It is really well done. Authentic chinese food.

For what it’s worth, the food is amazing, made to order, not sitting in a hot plate in the back and thrown onto a plate. Consistently the food is fantastic and the waitresses are kind and prevent an over indulgent experience. Their Szechuan dishes are on Hong Kong point, and it’s no frills atmosphere, free wifi and accommodating staff make this place my #1 for a solo, quiet Chinese experience, or large group gregarious to do. Just such a comfortable unassuming experience. Love it!

Selection, savoury dishes, and service. Free parking! Unfortunately a star is lost due to sub-par washrooms, and overall interior appearance. For under $20 per person (tea, rice, 1 dish, tax & tip) all-in, this place is a ‘go-to’.

One of the best authentic Chinese restaurants in the city. I've been eating here for over 40 years and it never fails to disappoint. I love the BBQ pork and duck. So awesome!

Great food, good prices. It’s open very late and the staff are very accommodating for large groups , would recommend.

My husband and I have been going here for over 10 years and love the food. We've really never had an issues and it's always consistent. For one of the first times we got take out and I was impressed how perfect the food was. Just as good as dining in and the food was hot.

Authentic Chinese food. The best BBQ Duck I have had so far. Combined Chinese and Viet Nam food. Free tea, quick food. It looks like 1960s diner.

I've been here twice and I have to say this is one of the best Chinese restaurants I've been to in Ottawa. They were very nice and friendly, the place was clean, and most importantly the food was amazing. The first 2 pictures are the Chiu Chow Dumplings ($6.00), the 3rd one is the Jumbo Shrimp in Black Bean Sauce (around $19 I think), the 4th one is shrimp Siu Mai ($6.00), the last 2 are pictures of Golden Creamy Buns ($4.50).

Excellent takeout, so-so eat in experience. The crispy beef is one of our favorites but it is the hot & sour soup that gets us to keep coming back. Been to many Chinese restaurants, and this place serves the best hot & sour soup we have found in Ottawa! The food is good, better than average, but best enjoyed as takeout. 4 star Chinese food, 2.5 star restaurant, giving it a 3.5 stars total. Worth going for the takeout, not for a first date or with clients to impress, but good to eat in solo or casually with friends.

By far the best Chinese restaurant in Ottawa. My boyfriend introduced me to this place that his friends used to go to and he has never said one bad thing. "This place never disappoints." He always says.They are so friendly and kind here. We're starting to become regulars! Lots of food to choose from on the Menu it's almost too much! Definitely going here for a while. Has parking behind the property.

Lived in Ottawa for over 20 years, but never been to Yang Sheng restaurant. Today I order a congee dish and dim sum dish from SkpTheDishes, wow, the flavor of the dishes just blew me away, really decent authentic! Packaging could be better, but food was delicious. Definitely a recommend!

Delicious food. Right price.

I've been going on and off to this Chinese diner joint for close to 20 years, always doing take-out or eating there, never ordering delivery. Food and portions always good, lots of options, and layout is cozy. If you are clear, direct and respectful to the staff you will receive the same back. I recommend.

I grew up in Ottawa always passing by this restaurant and never trying it till last week. I was very impressed with the food quality and selection. We went with a group of 5 adults and we were all very content with our experience. The chef came out to make sure everything was okay and we all thought that was so great. I’ll definitely be coming back for another delicious meal.

Decent Chinese food and very quick service. I generally like most of the items excluding the General Tao's Chicken. I'm not sure what they do to it but it is always soggy and chewy. I wouldn't avoid this place because of that as the other food is great.

I've been going here since I was a baby and I've never had a bad experience. The food is always delicious and the staff are very kind! Crispy noodles with beef + black bean sauce is a must try!
